KILLALOE OPP: During the week of the 15 August 2016, to the 21 August 2016, there were 101 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.

There were eleven motor vehicle collisions, five were animal related.

There were two domestic dispute calls for service during the week of the 15 August 2016, to the 21 August 2016. There was one domestic related incident involving criminal code charges.

Assault/ Threats Charge

On the 21August 2016 at approximately 10:22 a.m., Whitney OPP Constable Keith Jones and A/Sgt Mike Holbrook received a call of a domestic dispute on Source Lake, Algonquin Provincial Park. Subsequent to police investigation, a 47 yr. old male from New York has been charged with Utter Threats, section 264.1(1)(a) and Assault, section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with conditions with a court date at the Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

Assault

On the 19 August 2016 at approximately 3:02 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Jon Anderson received a family dispute call for service on Water Street, Bonnechere Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, 54 yr. old Denise PEARSON of London, has been charged with Assault, section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with conditions, with a court date at the Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe.

Assault

On the 15 August 2016 at approximately 4:20 pm., Killaloe OPP Constable Devin Leeworthy received an assault call for service on Madawaska Crescent, Bonnechere Valley Twp. Subsequent to police investigation, 68 yr. old Roland PARENT of Madawaska Crescent has been charged with Utter Threats, section, 264.1(1)(a), and assault section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released on a Promise to Appear with conditions, with a court date at the Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe.

Mischief

On the 20 August 2016 at approximately 8: 47 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Barry Nisbet attended Dunn Street in Madawaska Valley Twp. regarding a damaged phone booth. Two males had been observed fighting inside the phone booth, subsequently breaking the glass. Both males are described as 16-17 yrs., wearing jeans, black shirts and baseball caps. The Township was notified about the broken glass. This incident remains under investigation.

Break and Enter

On the 16 August 2016 at approximately 8:40 a.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Ryan Lapierre received a break and enter call for service on Mask Road, Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. A shed at the landfill site had been entered and a set of keys stolen. This incident remains under investigation.

Theft

On the 17 August 2016 at approximately 1:32 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Mike Recoskie received a theft call for service at the Golden Sands Restaurant, Highway # 60, and North Algona Wilberforce Twp. A pop machine had been broken into, pop and cash were stolen. This incident remains under investigation.

Motor Vehicle Collision

On the 20 August 2016 at approximately 12: 50 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Jon Anderson received a single motor vehicle collision call for service on McCauley Mountain Road, Bonnechere Valley Twp. A Dodge Caravan had lost control in loose gravel and had over turned into the ditch. The vehicle was towed from the scene, no injuries and no charges laid. The road was temporarily closed while the vehicle was removed.

On the 17 August 2016 at approximately 2: 48 p.m., Whitney OPP Constable Keith Jones received a single motor vehicle collision call for service on Highway # 60, Algonquin Provincial Park. A large tanker truck had flipped over. There were no reported injuries and no leakage had occurred. The vehicle was not blocking, and the roadway remained opened to traffic. The Whitney Fire Department arrived on the scene as a precaution. The tanker truck was towed from the scene. No charges laid.
