OPP Investigate Death of Parachutist
On August 27, 2017 at approximately 6pm officers from the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment responded a call regarding a recreational parachutist who was seriously injured.
The 29-year-old female from Petawawa, conducted a solo jump, had an issue with her parachute and landed in a field of Black Bay Road near the Pembroke Airport. She was transported to the hospital by paramedics and died a short time later.
The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) was notified of this incident and the OPP are continuing with the investigation.
