Attempted Robbery Under Investigation

On the evening of June 3, 2019, at just after 8:00 p.m., members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an attempted robbery at a convenience store in the 600 block of Mackay Street in the City of Pembroke. A man entered the store while brandishing a weapon and fled after an altercation with the store clerk. The clerk was not injured and the man fled on foot towards Bell Street. Responding officers, along with OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) members and the Canine Unit, were unable to locate the male.

The person of interest is described as a male in his 20’s to 30’s with dark hair and a dark beard. He was wearing black footwear, blue jeans and dark-coloured hooded sweatshirt. Photos of the person of interest are attached.

The OPP’s Forensic Identification Services (FIS) is assisting with the investigation. Crime Stoppers Pembroke/Renfrew County believes that someone may have information that could assist police in solving this crime.
