UPDATE # 2: PEMBROKE MAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER GUNSHOT WOUND

Firearm recovered

(PEMBROKE, ON) – The Crime Unit of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began investigating after a man with a gunshot wound attended the emergency department at the Pembroke Regional Hospital in the early morning hours of September 25, 2020.Through investigation, it has been determined that the injury was self-inflicted as a result of an accidental discharge.

The involved firearm, which had been outstanding, was recovered by the UOVOPP Crime Unit on the afternoon of October 6, 2020.

The investigation continues.

UPDATE #1: PEMBROKE MAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER GUNSHOT WOUND

Foul play not suspected

(PEMBROKE, ON) – The Crime Unit of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began investigating after a man with a gunshot wound attended the emergency department at the Pembroke Regional Hospital in the early morning hours of September 25, 2020. Through investigation, it has been determined that the injury was self-inflicted as a result of an accidental discharge. The man remains in hospital with critical injuries.

The firearm, believed to be a shotgun, is still outstanding and police are continuing to investigate that aspect of the incident.

PEMBROKE MAN IN CRITICAL CONDITION AFTER GUNSHOT WOUND

(PEMBROKE, ON) – The Crime Unit of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating after a man with a gunshot wound attended the emergency department at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on September 25, 2020, at approximately 1:45 a.m. The 34-year-old was transferred to an Ottawa-area hospital in critical condition.

At this time police believe the shooting took place at a residence on Arnolds Lane in the city of Pembroke. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the nature of the shooting.
