OPP INVESTIGATE FAIL TO REMAIN COLLISION
Police Seek Potential Video
(PEMBROKE, ON) – The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is asking for the public’s help in an ongoing investigation.
A fail to remain motor vehicle collision occurred on MacKay Street near Irving Street in the City of Pembroke at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. A motor vehicle was southbound on MacKay Street when it struck a pedestrian on the roadway. The driver failed to stop and was last seen turning eastbound on Dunlop Street. The car sustained driver’s side damage and is described as having roof racks, one of which was left at the scene. Police are seeking assistance from the public to identify the vehicle and driver. At this time police believe the involved vehicle is a maroon 2009-2011 Honda passenger vehicle, possibly a Civic or Accord model.
The pedestrian, a 66-year-old Pembroke resident, was taken to hospital by ambulance with life-altering injuries. A section of MacKay Street was closed for approximately three hours as a result of this incident. An OPP Scenes of Crime Officer (SOCO) and Technical Collision Investigator (TCI) are assisting with the investigation.
The OPP is asking anyone in the area with a residential surveillance video or other home or car video who may potentially have video from September 30 to contact the detachment.

The collision took place at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2020. A maroon Honda passenger vehicle was southbound on MacKay Street when it struck a pedestrian on the roadway. The driver failed to stop and was last seen turning eastbound on Dunlop Street.
