OPP INVESTIGATING SERIOUS COLLISION

Pedestrian struck

(PEMBROKE, ON) – The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred in the 900 block of Pembroke Street East in the City of Pembroke. The collision took place at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2020. A passenger car was eastbound on Pembroke Street East when it collided with a pedestrian on the roadway.

The pedestrian, a 64-year-old from Gatineau, Que., was taken to a local hospital by ambulance with serious injuries and later transferred to an Ottawa-area hospital. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, a 59-year-old Pembroke resident, was not injured. A section of the eastbound lane of Pembroke Street East was closed for approximately four hours as a result of this incident. The investigation is continuing.
