UOV OPP INVESTIGATING SERIOUS MOTORCYCLE COLLISION

Beachburg road closed

(WHITEWATER REGION TWP, ON) – Members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently on scene at a serious single vehicle collision on Beachburg Road in Whitewater Region. The collision occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. on September 1, 2021. As a result, Beachburg Road is currently closed in both directions between Zion Line and Sturgeon Mountain Road.

A preliminary investigation has revealed that a westbound motorcycle lost control. Both the driver and passenger of the motorcycle were transported to hospital by land ambulance with serious injuries.

Officers remain on scene and the investigation is continuing with the assistance of OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) members. Beachburg Road is expected to be closed until mid-afternoon and local detours are in place. Updates will be provided as they become available.

(WHITEWATER REGION TWP, ON) – On September 1, 2021, at approximately 9:30 a.m. members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a serious single vehicle collision on Beachburg Road in Whitewater Region.

A preliminary investigation has revealed that a westbound motorcycle lost control. The driver, a 52-year-old male from North Bay, and the passenger, a 37-year-old female from Nipissing First Nation, were transported to hospital by land ambulance with serious injuries.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) members. A section of Beachburg Road between Zion Line and Sturgeon Mountain Road was closed for approximately three hours as a result of the investigation.
